Poem 67

6 7 7
virtual light looms
like shadow and cat
fly on a mat
no.
prosthetic eye
illegal cyborg
when light comes
there comes platitude
goes girl with specter
eyeprick and thread continent
winnowing appetites for old and dry wood
the miracle of digestion, and then what?
Like harry and the glove,
Peonies arrive compact and miniaturized
Try pretense
Imitation is never what it seems
Accretion is also never what it seems
Manly secretion is but a mutant word
Body without body
